Ethno-style bookmarks with traditional cross-stitch embroidery, faux leather back, and a macrame element.
These original bookmarks are made of cross-stitched cotton aida, with black woven macrame ribbons, and the back sides are made of black eco leather. They are soft and flexible, with no hard base inside.
The pattern is designed in the style of the ancient symbol known as ‘kanatitsa’ in Bulgaria – however, it is also commonly used in many parts of the world, including the Orient and the Aztec civilisation. Because of its simple, yet beautiful design, this symbol has stood the test of time, and we still see it today in many forms of art. In Bulgarian folklore, it commonly symbolises unity, harmony and family life.
Please note that only 1 of each colour is available at the moment.
